after having many different types cars and trunk or hatch mounted subs.. The subs always sounds better pointed upwards in a hatch. The sound reflects off the glass and the curves of the hatch to resonnate back to the front. If i lay my subs flat pointed downwards i would get a deeper base groany base sound with little hit. IN a trunk mounted sub enclosure they sound better facing the rear.
